I'm writing this week's newsletter on my phone at 7 am in a Costas in Essex as I'm away for two days on a very geeky but very important golf shaft product training seminar. (It's so early as I took Lewis to school at 4am as he travels to Switzerland to visit the amazing Particle Accelerator). Please click here for my report on what I've been learning. 




Congratulations to my Assistant Luke who passed his PGA examinations last week. He got the results at 5pm on Friday, hours before he set off to Orlando on holiday - what a great start. He was nervously awaiting the results as this was a re-take of a couple of the exams that he'd run out of time on and he smashed it this time. Well done Luke! 




Thanks to everyone who played in my Pros Day and especially to all those who joined us for the Pro's Party at night. The LongTones entertained us and Justin and his team put on a premier league buffet. It really means a lot to see the support you give us and we've had lots of great comments about both events. 

Lewis ran the shop, Simon ran his 'Snack Shack', Katie was overseeing everything and I was running the Speed Golf on the 17th, even Rudy the dog spent the day in the shop - what a team Bland effort!

That leaves me just enough space to write about the sad passing of Arnold Palmer or the small matter of the Ryder Cup. I thought we would be hard to beat again this year due to our team spirit but I now presume that Arnies passing will create some kind of a 'Seve effect' for the Americans and it should be a great spirited event. 

Whichever way it turns out, Brocton member Matt Wilkes has better than front row seats as he was selected as a volunteer and had been there for a week already. Bring the trophy back Matt!
