They have managed the impossible... For the third year in a row, Brocton Hall Seniors team have managed the impossible and won away at the fiendishly tricky and local-knowledge-reliant Beau Desert. They won 5-4 recently and then followed it up with a home win to the tune of 9-1. A fantastic team performance and I think it also goes to show how Brocton becomes more reliant on local knowledge when it plays firm and fast as it has been doing lately. The rain that fell all day on Tuesday should help the green staff set the course up perfectly for Captain’s Day this Saturday. The forecast is for near 30 degree temperatures and I’ve marked out the flag positions for Steve and have selected easier spots than normal to reflect the current course difficulty. Of course this allows us to speed the greens up if we want to! Here is a rough description of where you will find them on the day. I haven’t included exact distances from the edges as deer hoof marks and un-repaired pitch marks (Grrrrr - why are people still not repairing them?) can cause the pins to be altered at the 11th hour.
