Ladies beginners group coaching
I’ll be starting some beginners coaching for ladies in a couple of weeks. Details can be found on the club website at www.broctonhall.com, if you know of anyone who wishes to start playing the game or merely have a go, please either pass this email onto them, direct them to the website or call the Golf Shop to register on 01785 661485. This is an introduction to the game and whilst the whole 5 weeks would provide the best all-round learning, it is possible to cherry pick individual dates if not all of them fit in with peoples busy diaries.
The sessions are in groups of 6 maximum at a cost of £10 per week, running from 11:00-12:00. We’ll even throw in a free coffee from our real bean coffee machine!
Week 1 - MONDAY 17TH NOVEMBER
GETTING STARTED – grip and setup
Week 2 - MONDAY 24TH NOVEMBER
THE LONG GAME – Woods and irons
Week 3 - MONDAY 1ST DECEMBER
THE SHORT GAME – bunkers and pitching
Week 4 - MONDAY 8TH DECEMBER
AROUND THE GREEN – chipping and putting
Week 5 - MONDAY 15TH DECEMBER
GETTING AROUND THE COURSE
But that’s not all for the ladies – on Thursdays starting the same week I have group coaching for current lady golfers of any handicap. The times and costs will be the same and these are the dates:
Week 1 - THURSDAY 2OTH NOVEMBER
BUNKER SHOTS – get out every time!
Week 2 - THURSDAY 27TH NOVEMBER
ON COURSE SESSION – get round easier!
Week 3 - THURSDAY 4TH DECEMBER
DRIVING – maximize the long stick!
Week 4 - THURSDAY 11TH DECEMBER
SIMPLE STRATEGY – take less shots on the course!
Week 5 - THURSDAY 18TH DECEMBER
CHIPPING & PUTTING – up and down more often!
Again, you can cherry-pick your ideal subject to attend your preferred dates or register for them all. Maximum of 6 per group and register by calling the shop or click here to book by telling us your preferred date[s].
Coming Soon – Seniors Coaching and a pre-Christmas junior Saturday course 4 week course.
Pro’s fiddle this Saturday open to white and red tee golfers – 3 ball Texas Scramble, 1/6th handicap and only 4 drives to count each to stop the low handicappers running away with it! No priority on the tee but call the shop if you need fixing up. £4 entry per person
The President David Robinson and I played against Ken Bailey and Stefan Skibicki on Sunday in the second of a series of charity challenge matches. It’s a good job that David was ‘doing a runner’ by going on holiday next day after he started birdie, par, eagle, birdie, birdie(!!] eventually winning 5&4. Thanks for the game guys – I enjoyed watching it whilst holding the flag!
The clubhouse refurbishment continues at pace, especially as Gary Murhpy’s lads have time scheduled tea breaks to allow access to the upper floors at specific times! The competition boards have been taken down and will be repositioned along the new stairwell up from the locker room entrance.
The club logo was also ‘refurbished’ in the summer as you may have noticed on email headers, the club flag and on the club website. It’s been graphically modernised with shading, a more realistic stags head and appears in a multitude of colour ways on different posters. In line with this we re-digitsied the logo for embroidery and have been offering both the old and the new style logo for a few months on all our clothing. The new logo has more dense stitching and an extra custom option as the banner is filled in with colour, and remember we perform our own embroidery so you can choose whatever colours you like. We will still provide the option of the previous logo as well for those that wish.
Here’s a video of the embroidery machine in action putting the logo on the new ladies team sweaters and some examples of the logos. Click here to watch the video.
You can even get to see a demo of the machine in action on our combined Open Day and Christmas Greetings and Eating Night on November 27th: Here’s the details
