Christmas Greetings and Eating night
One thing I failed to mention last week was the date of our Christmas Greetings and Eating night - it’s next Thursday, the 21st November.
We’ll be open all afternoon for you to pop in, have a coffee or a tipple on us, dig into the Quality Street and even have a go on the Simulator. Food will be available in the clubhouse at this time - I’m not sure at the moment whether any clubhouse catering will be available at night but later on from 5:30pm we’ll crank up the tunes in the shop, (feel free to bring your own vinyl’s along}, pop a cork or two and celebrate into the evening. Pop in if you’re on the way home from work or make a date to join us with a thank-you drink for your support and friendship during the year. Wear what you like, arrive when you like and bring whomever you like.

Mike and I at Woburn…
Mike and I played at Woburn on the Duke’s course last week and you might like to know that Brocton Hall has fared much better than this well-known championship course with the recent wet conditions, even though our green fee is a third of theirs.
In fact, it’s in better condition than any course I’ve played recently and we often lose sight of how well our course copes if we don’t venture further afield in the winter.

You may like to alert any of your golfing colleagues to the fact that the club has a ’15 month for the price of 12’ membership promotion which is active now.

Pro’s fiddle
This coming Saturday we have a Pro’s Fiddle - Better Ball Stableford, played in 4’s, or if there’s 3 of you then one person can enter twice and play on two cards. There’s no priority on the tee and it’s open to all.
Click here if you need fixing up.

Winter League
As we approach Christmas, we’re planning on developing a Pro’s Shop Winter League so if you are playing in winter knockout, and get knocked out, you’ll still have something to get stuck into over the winter.
|
Christmas Raffle
We’ve also launched our popular Christmas Raffle this week - £5 per square with the 1st prize of a new custom-fitted driver (or equivalent) valued at £349.
There are other prizes too and there are only 100 squares so make sure you don’t miss out - we’ll draw it as soon as it’s full.

We’ve helped so many members throughout this year with their golf games and their equipment needs and it’s been an amazing year for golf equipment development.
In the Pro Shop we’ve also had a great year for sales of other products as well with clothing, gloves and shoes performing better than ever.
Pop in the shop next time you’re passing to see the new stock for autumn/winter and remember you can easily log onto nevilbland.co.uk and order Click & Collect items for delivery before Christmas.

Get something personal As we edge towards the big day, it’s time to start thinking about the presents that you'll buy loved ones this year, as well as the gifts you'd like to receive yourself. We love the idea of a dozen (or two) personalised Srixon golf balls; after all, you can never have too many! You can order yours on our website and pay when you collect them in-store in a few weeks’ time. |

#468FCD ;text-align:left">Stats that'll make you thinkYou don’t get to a single-figure handicap without having a strong iron game, but the journey shouldn't end there. For us, there are two key factors that, when combined properly, will help take your iron play to the next level. |
1) Get custom-fitted If you're serious about shooting in the 70s each and every round, then getting custom-fitted for your next set of irons is key. TaylorMade’s P790 model feel fantastic off the face and provide precise distances and control, but that's no good if you're using the wrong shafts or you need 2-degrees flat but yours are standard.
2) Know your yardages The second stat above is remarkable and if you're one of the 21%, you need to come and see us for a gapping session. There we can give you the distances you hit each of your clubs as well as spot any issues you have between clubs.
