Thank you for your cooperation!
The changes we have had to make to the golf shop have been well received this week with everyone who has turned up to check-in for their golf, pay green fees, bring in a found item or some of the many other admin tasks we provide which don't involve 'shop retail'. Masks now only have to be worn when you cross the yellow line on the floor and enter into the Pro Shop side of the interior. We still only allow two people into the shop but can have a further two people in the reception area if need be.
Fortunately, the impending good weather helps everyone out - another lucky aspect that we find ourselves with this pandemic, imagine if this was happening in December!
Pro competitions coming up We also have a Pro's Fiddle this Saturday which will be the last of the three-ball team events, best two scores from three. Open to any white or red tee golfers, just enter when you check-in for your round.
Plus, the Captain and I will be challenging 8 lucky pairs to an unofficial Captain/Pro challenge from the end of August. To qualify you just need to submit a card as a better-ball pair and the best 8 scores will play against us during the Autumn, any winning pairs will share the spoils.
Tip of the week...
Quick tip for your driving this week - I was watching a group teeing off the 18th and each person spent time adjusting their shoulder tilt and shifting their weight to try to hit upwards on the ball. Whilst this may be a good thing for a slicer to attempt, each of these golfers already had a shallower impact style swing which would naturally have created good driving conditions. Subsequently, each tee shot I witnessed was a low hook. Had these golfers stood to the ball the way they would stand for every shot, they'd have hit much better tee shots. What's right for one golfer isn't right for every golfer!
