We're back!
Well it was great to see lots of golfers out enjoying the fresh air on Wednesday. Originally lockdown was due to finish on Thursday but fortunately, we were given an extra day by the Government which gave us a nice day before the rain and snow hits! It was always going to happen wasn’t it?! – beautiful weather during November and then it breaks for when we return. Oh well, at least we’re back, everyone’s in good spirits and in good health and it can only get better from here. We increasingly field a huge number of inquiries and phone calls in the Pro Shop on a daily basis about everything golf and golf club related and we also have two phone lines ringing so please bear with us. One is a direct number which is 01785 661485 and a switchboard number which was added a few years ago, 01785 661901 option 1. If your call goes unanswered, we’ll be on the other phone or busy with an enquiry in person in the shop so if you could leave a message or call back, we’ll be able to help. Fortunately, every member of staff in the Shop, either myself, Katie, Adam or Jill are all capable of dealing with virtually all your enquiries. As you can imagine with the return being much anticipated, lessons and club fittings are very popular and we can provide vouchers for these should you wish to surprise someone with a present. It’s been an astonishing year for equipment with all the manufacturers making some awesome performing and looking products. We’ve just added new drivers and fairways from Srixon, Callaway and Titleist, Callaway Bertha, Srixon and Cobra irons and in we’re already booking up into January for the launch of the PING G425 series which lands here on the 4th Jan. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I suppose, we ran out of time before lockdown ended to finish the project to re-spec our fitting matrix. We were making all the heads slightly lighter, adding 4 irons and pitching wedges to the iron fitting options and adding another 200 shafts into our matrix as well as adding all the new woods. It’s one of those things, that if you have a bigger range of options than normal, you suddenly need to have EVERY option. Another thing we’re doing to make sense of all the options is to colour code every shaft with identifying bands for launch, backspin, tempo and weight. Plus different grips will identify the flex and another colour will identify the length. Can a shaft make a big enough difference to need so many options? The answer is yes, most definitely but if your preference is the look and feel of the clubhead itself, we also now have three different hitting surfaces to play from to replicate different lies that you would encounter and you can experience the feel of the strike more than ever, PLUS the mat now accepts a normal tee peg so you can use whatever tee you would normally use. It doesn’t get much better than that. You can ask about a time to get fitted by clicking below. |
