We hope you're well. Two dates for your diary: 29th March and 12th April! It was great to hear the news that - amongst other things - playing golf has been given the green light from the 29th of March, just in time for the four-day Easter weekend! Not only this, but non-essential retail can open its doors just a couple of weeks later on the 12th of April. Hooray! We can't wait to welcome you back to Brocton Hall Golf Club and will have more news for you in the coming weeks. Until then, we are still here if there's anything golf-related you'd like to discuss or purchase - there's no reason to go anywhere else. We really do appreciate your support! Enjoy the read. |
What to expect!
We’ve lots to report on this week as we prepare to welcome you back. I’d hoped that we could resume the junior coaching (and regular coaching) this weekend or next but Junior coaching will start now on the first Sunday after we’re allowed back onto the course, the 4th April. It’s available for 6 years and older, with sessions from 9am. Adam will be heading up the Junior Academy and I’ll be working alongside him during the sessions. Members and non-members are welcome - just send a message to adamwilliams00@gmail.com or reply to this newsletter if you’d like any more information or to register interest.
We’re sending out some great options for Brocton Hall logo clothing in the next couple of days, if you get your orders into us in the next week or so, we can get a bulk deal and get everything embroidered for when golf re-starts - I think we’re all due a reward and a smart new Brocton sweater or slipover could be just that!
These are just some of the things you can look forward to that have happened during lockdown: |
On Course The clocks will have changed and we’ll have longer days and more tee times. Quite possibly the Winter layout will have finished and we’ll be back on normal tees. The greens are being hollow-tined next week and they’ll be well into recovery with favourable weather. Perimeter fencing has been replaced, trees trimmed and drainage improved. The daffodils will be in bloom and the fairways will be striped. |
Around the club The outdoor seating area ‘The Pods’ will be finished on the lawn leading down to the lake.
The competition boards have been painted with the recent winners in gold letters.
New Fibre-Optic super-fast connection has been installed, coming in underneath the 18th green.
Karen and Jo are well into their roles in the office.
The touch screen computers will be set up for competitions and supplementary cards.
The World Handicap System will be fully in use. |
In the Studio A new projector is in the studio, with a brighter, bigger image. A new surround for the net with blackout material and soundproof wall panels in place. There’s a new wall-mounted viewing monitor displaying all your impact conditions. We have dozens of new demo shafts in our matrix all colour coded with new grips. All the new club models will be here from Callaway, TaylorMade, Cobra, Titleist, Cleveland, PXG, PING, Srixon and Mizuno! |
Coaching Adam has passed his first year of qualifications and is now heading up the Junior Academy.
We’ve re-done all our essential workshops on Safeguarding, First Aid, Fire Safety and renewed our DBS checks
We’ve passed all the training courses for the brilliant CAPTO putting device as used by European Tour coach Phil Kenyon. In the Shop We’ve refurbished the interior walls with a smart new colour scheme.
We have lots of Brocton Hall logo’d items, golf bags, shoes, gloves and the new ProV1 and Pro V1x balls.
We have one of each trolley model in stock from Powakaddy and Motocaddy plus the bags and accessories which we’ll be keeping topped up all year and because we’re Staffordshire’s Service Centre for both brands, we can cater for any eventuality. |
