On Friday, 21 August we will be holding the annual Brocton Hall Midland PGA Pro-Am Open. This is a special year as it will be the 10th consecutive running of the event and many of the best professionals from around the Midlands have already entered and the tee sheet is filling up. The event has been renowned around the Midland region as having great prizes and for being a great course to compete on and also for being great value to enter.
I'm keen to keep the 10th year as prominent as the previous nine and invite you to take one of the limited number of hole sponsorships available which include:
Team entry into the pro-am
Preferred choice of tee times
Preferred choice of team professional
Advert in the programme
Banners on your sponsored hole
Marketing material in the welcome pack
£3000 amateur prizes
Halfway house refreshments
Two course meal and presentation
All for £275 + VAT which is what many Pro-am's charge for just a normal team entry. Please click here if you would like me to get in touch with you to reserve a slot. Members and non-members can also enter teams to be joined with a professional or bring their own team including their own professional.
24 Hour Golf Challenge
Only four weeks until Steve Hirst, Bill Whittle and I embark on 24 hours of golf - approximately seven non-stop rounds including throughout the night. You can join in by offering to caddie for us or join us for one of the rounds, either for 9 holes or for 18 holes to make up our fourth player. The timings of our rounds will be teeing off at 6pm, 9:30pm, 1am, 4:30 am, 8am, 11:30am, 3pm and surprisingly our 1am and 4:30am slots haven't been taken yet (I think they will be the most fun!).
Click here and let me know which time you'd like to caddie or play with us. I've set up a JustGiving web page for donation to the Birmingham Children's Hospital. Thank you.
The Presidents Day had a full field of 183 competitors or Sunday with Ryan Blower lifting the top prize with 40 points.
The juniors joined in the day by playing a nine hole competition after the main event - well done to all the helpers and volunteers who made this possible and to the juniors who took part and the prize-winners. It was impressive to see the juniors attending the presentation in jackets and ties and all the prize winners were there.
Here is a photo of the juniors with the President -Wilf Sault.
I spent some time snooping around the course and taking photos of unsuspecting golfers for a display in the clubhouse - here's a selection of the photos.
