We're having so many comments as to how good the greens are at the moment, in fact the whole course. It's not by accident though, even this week the greens committee were conducting a course walk to plan out the future projects and maintenance.
My SkyTrak ball launch monitor is due this week which will work alongside my Flightscope. One will be measuring the performance of the club at impact and the other will be measuring the ball. Now we will have the benefit of even better use of the indoors studio this winter to make your game work for you:
- Yardage gapping - know how far you hit your clubs on average and if there are any that you don't need (or do!) - Ball fitting - what's the best ball for your driver? irons?, wedges? Match the ball to your most important scoring area - Practice - You can play around 9 different golf courses, hit shots into the greens and even practice to different targets! AND as always, club fitting sessions are free of charge.
I get busy indoors over the winter as many golfers use the time to get their clubs sorted for the new season. There are so many things that can be done to increase your enjoyment from the game, whether it be adjustments to your clubs or a new feel for hitting the ball and part of my role here at Brocton Hall is to get you all out playing and playing well and I enjoy seeing the improvement too - as a keen golfer I can certainly relate to that so please click here if you are interested.
I was down in Essex for two days this week taking part in the ACCRA golf shafts European meeting. It was certainly a Who's Who of club fitters and professional club makers with renowned colleagues from Ireland, Scotland, Spain, Slovakia, Germany and Sweden all sharing their experiences. I've certainly heard some great tales about the industry, about some rogue traders and some great success stories too.
It's very humbling to be included in this group of experts and was great to actually meet some people who I've only ever known through Twitter or on the phone. ACCRA golf shafts have only ever been allowed to be used by tour pro's and professional fitters. You'll never find them as an option in any OEM manufacturer like Callaway or TaylorMade but you will find them in the bags of Matt Kuchar, Luke Donald, Justin Rose, Nick Watney, Rory Sabbatini, Natalie Gulbis and Adam Scott to name a few and none of them are paid to use the product. I was first allowed to use ACCRA about 7 years ago after my club fitting credentials had expanded sufficiently and they become my product of choice due to some unique traits which set them apart from other shafts:
- They make a range of price points to suit different budgets - They are probably the most consistent from shaft to shaft on the market, using more graphite and less resin. - We can get any flex in any weight - normally the lighter the shaft, the soft the flex - We can get any ball flight from any flex - low, middle or high hitting options - We can get them customised for paint colour - We can also get them laser etched for extra cool personalising.
I use four different graphite ACCRA shafts currently in my Driver (low spinning), 4 wood (high launching), hybrid (heavier and stiffer) and putter (softer feeling).
After this week I'll be having more demo shafts to try out and you can come and have some fun with them, with the new Skytrak launch monitor too. You know where I am, just book in and come and see me!
